Starts the last week of March to the first week of April. I'm planning to go that first Friday and then again the week after. Anyone interested in meeting up, grabbing a cab for lunch in Chinatown and then maybe hit Union Station?

I'm a tentative yes. Normally I work on Friday and Saturday, but a few weeks ago I requested a week off around Cherry Blossom time. I have "use or lose", as well as some latitude as to when I take the time. It would actually be nice to meet some of the local folks. :D

Also, Meadowlark has Cherry Blossoms too, and I understand they trail by something like 3 or 4 days. Last year they were beautiful, if not exactly the spectacle one finds around the Tidal Basin.

We walk around the Basin and then set out for lunch. It's about a 4 to 5 hour thing. Jim, Jon and I are the usuals.

I'm not bumping, more like wanting to reschedule. Can anyone meet on Tuesday instead of Friday. It looks like rain Wed-Fri.

Can't. Work day. And it looks like now is the time to see them. Someone had a photo or two in the NoVA thread from yesterday, and the cherry blossoms looked great!

Go, good luck, enjoy!

I heard they were out. I want to go earlier than later. With the cold temperatures I was sure it would be better later. But I guess I was wrong.

I ended up going out yesterday trying to capture some with snow (not enough snow..) and they looked great. Still quite a few to open up, but it was a busy place with lots of glass

I am trying to get Friday free also, but if it rains, I can't make it. If I go tomorrow, I'll be avoiding the cold and snow, which is good since everyone in my house has been sick and I don't want to do that again. I am also going Monday. My boys have the day off and we're taking the bus and spending the whole day there.

This was the first shot I took today. I did a little PP, that's all.

This is where I was standing to get that first shot. Jared & Melanie in this picture.

The Walkway. Still not peak yet. But still beautiful.

I already posted these in the Wedding Talk thread.

Looking like partly cloudy for Friday; I'm planning to take advantage of that. I'll probably catch either the 6:34 or 7:19 train in, which should get me to the Tidal Basin by 7:30 or 8:30.

These were taken Saturday. Planing to go take pictures Friday morning at Dawn. Sunrise is at 6:53 AM I will get there at 5:30 AM to set up my tripod. The weather should be partly cloudy so it may make a nice sunrise with clouds as long as there is not to much.
