Can anyone suggest which of these laptops is a better value?

I'm looking for photo editing use. No gaming.
The 17" has a poor battery life (3hr) but a nicer resolution screen.
I can down size the HD to 640gig and get 7200 rpm for same price.

they seem pretty similar.

For PP you surely will appreciate the bigger screem.

Given same chips I also seriously doubt the smaller one has as much more battery life as they say.

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.
