Both work equally well as each other. Very good value for money. I got it as a back up and because of the longer guarantee.

It performs better at the center than the Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L I tried and is about 75% the weight and a lot shorter. Mine is due back from CRIS tomorrow for a front-focus issue. I had my 5Dii at +18 and all was well, so I had no compelling reason to send it in. However, I've been shooting with my EOS 3 quite a bit lately and it doesn't have MFA, thus the trip to CRIS. Hopefully it will be spot-on when I get tomorrow. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

My 5Dii is now set at 0 on MFA. I should have done this two years ago when I bought the lens. Water under the bridge, now. In Canada or depot for Sigma is Gentec out of Toronto, where I send every lens for Calibration. They keep a record of all my lenses, with calibration required for each lens which has added to the performance from the history of that particular camera body. Basically by tracking calibration from the history of my lenses has enable them to more accurately chip or calibrate any new lens. So in a nut shell my Sigma lens perform extremely well. If you are able to do this under warranty the cost is minimal and the benefits obvious!

It was a disaster on my old 50D....but an absolute peach on my 5D2. Sold it because I found I wasn't using it...and ended up getting a 28-70L. Highly recommend the Sigma. Flick

Sigma had a booth at a photo show and a studio setup with hot lights. Out of the 7 shots I took with it, 1 was in focus. I could understand if the lens came from inventory but this was Sigma, at a show, allowing people to try out lenses on their bodies. You would think they would make sure they had good working copies. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
