That's funny! I wonder what he was thinking? He was going to zoom or focus the darkness away?

It was a Leica. I'm no expert on Leica cameras, but I know that most if not all Leica are rangefinder cameras. If it's a rangefinder, you're not looking through the lens (as you are with an SLR camera) when you look through the viewfinder.

Oh dear...

I suspect he's one of those people people with too much money and too little intelligence... poor Leica (at least it looked like one to me)

The way he was "turning that lens" it seemed to me as if he was trying to zoom? Are the zoom lenses for the Leica M mount?

I guess he should get a P&S :)

That would definitely explain it! Thanks for the explanation.

What a dumb @$$. Trying to take a picture with the lens cap on and shooting a Leica. Its either a film rangefinder or he is a complete idiot. If its a film Leica I can see why he doesn't know the lens cap is still on because there is no LCD in the back to view the pictures, but if it is a newer model like an M8 or M9 he would just see black in the LCD, lol. He also has a Nikon strapped around his neck as well.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I wonder if he ever figured it out....very funny except my wedding photog did the same thing (we suspect). All the pics turned out solid black!!!!!!! It took years before it could be mentioned without my wife start crying.

Oh man, that's bad. I've taken one shot with the cap on a few times but I figure out what the issue is very quickly!

So, Jason, did the photographer try to sell any prints to you and your bride?

I'm wondering if someone else trusted him enough to hand him their $7k camera because he had access and they didn't? Still, pretty funny to see him keep looking and not get to the lens cap.
