Those boats were exceptionally still, lol. Curious but why did you choose the long exposure?

Thanks - yes, those boats were exceptionally still :)

long exposure to smooth the water <I find 'unsmooth' water very boring ... just MHO> - I love the color version of the two - but there is something about the B&W one that brings Mark Twain and the Mississippi River to mind ...

Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking
Phil

Cool shots. I see your point about the long exposure to smooth the water out. That is very cool looking.

The "color" version is kind of (okay... really) magenta/pink.

The only thing that irks me is right where the boat meets the water -- it looks sort of... artificial, like the boats were photoshopped in there. It's a bit tooo smooth, 'ya know?

Go with the sepia toned, maybe pop contrast to really make the boats jump out! I love marina and port shots...

I like the first one also.

The color one, not so much.

Crazy that the boats look that sharp for being in water and open shutter for 10 seconds.

Thanks for the feedback - ya those boats were dead still in the water - weather was biting cold - but - zero wind - hardly any movement on the water - distance away was about 120 feet - on tripod - lens was my 24-70 L (geez I love this lens) - tac sharp at f11 to f16 - sweet spot seems to be at f11
thanks again all - Phil
