With any spare time that I've been able to find, I've been experimenting with these Style 600RX strobes and have noticed something strange with regards to the modeling lights and its on/off switching with the SkyPorts. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I haven't been able to find a solution, so I figured I'd ask to confirm whether everything is working as it should or whether I'm missing something.

EXAMPLE: When I set the modeling lights to 6.5 (full power, either manually or with the SkyPort), then switch them off with the SkyPort (hold down "+" for two seconds and release), when I switch them back on, the modeling lights revert back to proportional power. Is there a way to keep them at full power ("Free" setting, not "Prop")? If so, how? What am I doing wrong? If not, well, then I guess it is what it is. :-|

Thank you all in advance for your insight!

Switching the modeling lights off then on with via skyport always defaults to proportional. Whereas if you have the modeling light on free and turn the switch off then on the strobe will store your last setting. This is normal with the Bxri and newer RX strobes.

Unfortunately that is how it works.

You can store setups in Elinchrom software and have greater control over those functions from a computer.

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the info. I don't understand why it was designed that way, but it is what it is.
