New member on POTN

Hi there, uhm, I have been surfing on this forum for quite a while now, asking myself if I should register or not. I thought it was worthless to register since I won't be able to post photos because I'm still saving for my camera (around Christmas).. But I really wanted to post on here and decided that not having a camera won't let me stay a guest

I haven't seen a specific forum for "Introduction of newbs", so I'll just introduce myself here. My name's Shawn, I'm 16, and I love photographing since I'm what, 11-12 years old. I'm still shooting with my mother's Pentax ME Super, and I'm saving to buy either a Canon S2 IS or a Powershot G5+Canon Speedlite 420EX.

Oh, and BTW, please excuse my very bad english because it's my second language, and I'm still not mastering it, but I'm learning!

Hi, Shawn, welcome aboard. And don't worry about your English. It's just fine. The good thing about an internet forum is that your Quebec accent is practically undetectable. If I could speak French even half as well as you can speak English, I would consider myself very fortunate.

I'm sure you will pick up a lot of tips on the Forum that will help you when you get your camera.
By looking at what others post and some of the critiques you can improve your picture taking ability.

I'm pretty new myself ,and am relearning photography skills. I was out of it for many years ,so forgot a lot. This forum has been wonderful for learning! Wish it had been around when I did photography before because it is so great to have people to turn to for questions or just discussing it.
