It was my first time doing "sports" photography and highly enjoyed it. Capturing motion and physical expressions is just amazing! Using the nifty fifty since its the only lens that I have that would allow me to take these shots with no flash..

I'm sure I can improve more but here's for now so any advices/critiques/comments are welcome. :)

One thing i will suggest is find some unique angles:

Get low
Get high
Go far
Get behind stuff

I used the 50mm 1.8 for a year straight with no other lenses its a good lens to have and it teaches you to look at stuff differently, and it forces you to be creative. Your shots are technically good, photos could be composed a little better and going through your flickr stream you have the same angle in the majority of the photos. so remember get low, high, far and switch it up its all about creativity...I have climbed trees before only to find the shot didnt work as well as i wanted but its what you gotta do. hope this help you in some way.

PS thats a nice little park!

I'd shoot some vertically, esp. if they're doing a lot of tricks like these captured here... much of their movement is vertical, would allow you to bring the subject closer and have less dead space in your frames. Nice start!

Thanks fellas! Yeah i kinda noticed my angles were the same. I couldnt get any low shots since I'd be on their way and they don't alllow non-skaters inside the area. I was already lucky enough to shoot random skaters for free. :)

Oh well, I'll know what to do next time. :)
