It's still there. It's hinged so it can be swung out of the way to aid cooling. It must've come loose mid stage as it was swinging around as the car passed us.

Good to see you again on Sunday Alan. Some really nice stuff here. J9 wasn't a bad place to watch, photograph and film from!

Simon.

Here's a link to some footage from Saturday. Be sure to turn the volume up for Burton's beast!

We headed back towards the car park in the afternoon. The spot we picked wasn't bad, although not as good as the morning.

Cheers,

Simon.

Charlie Payne's Focus WRC (#5) for me out of these Alan.

Like yourself i struggled with glare on the windscreens and ironically, i suspect the reversed stage in the afternoon, coupled with the movement of the sun would have produced exactly the same effect!. Sometimes you just can't win..

With regards to the Impreza number plate, it's a trick they used on the Works cars for cooling purposes, as Simon has said. The idea is they loosen it for a stage so the movement of the air swings it up and allows more air into the radiators, then fix it for road sections...

I'll post a few of mine up as soon as i can be bothered to resize them to 1024x for here :)
