Every year, the Air Combat Command (ACC) Demo Teams and several dedicated Warbird owners gather at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona to renew their formation certification so they may perform "Heritage Flights" at various airshows throughout the summer.

Here are some views of the ACC participants:

Hope everyone gets a chance to see a Heritage Flight at some point this summer. It's a very moving experience.

The Warbird participants included three P-51s, a P-40 and a P-38 but unfortunately, the WWII fighters fly a much tighter pattern for landing and good, clean looks at them were very hard to come by other than some belly shots.

Yours truly was shooting from off base (better light) and the formations were "playing" to what would normally be show center on base and as such, their "banana passes" were flown away from where I was located. Such is the life of a "fence hanger..."

Enjoy...

Jay

Great shots Jay.
The Raptor didn't fly at Avalon much to my disappointment.

All the shots are great as usual, Jay, but particularly like to see the Phantoms. Good to see they still fly a GIB once in awhile.

Thanks...

The Raptor does look almost comical with the little-bitty gear poking out.

Superb set, Raptor shot no.2 is a great angle. Love those Phantoms, they still look great.
