Because I bought one and tested it. Yes they trigger - they do not power adjust with the Cube, as OEMs do. No they are not 100% ETTL.

I saw a video showed Radio Poppers and 565EX working together perfectly. Also it is 100% ETTL compatible. kaelaria wrote in post #13380143 Because I bought one and tested it. Plan to shoot E-TTL (with my 480 EX II) with this setup. I'll post on here if I have any observations worth sharing. Tools: 70D, 10-22, Tamron 24-70 VC, 70-300L, 135 f2L

No they are not 100% ETTL. thanks for sharing - i was wondering about its compatibility with the JrX/RPCube system; i would have thought that since the YN-565 is able to communicate ETTL information on-camera, then the hotshoe should have been able to understand an RPCube's commands. my name is mjay.

I guess you are using the optical slave mode S1. You have to press the zoom button longer, not the mode button to enter this mode. Well, that was my first problem but I eventually did figure it out to get the right mode. I'm in wireless TTL with issues though.

Less than 1/160s? No, I don't think it is user error. Multiple reviewers on Amazon all seem to confirm that the YN-565 does not work with the Canon ST-E2. Read this page Under the "Master Flashes – Compatibility List" paragraph I tend to trust more Fransener than the Amazon self proclaimed "reviewers" F. In the fine print he confirms that his first copy did NOT work with the ST-E2 and only the sceond one did work. I haven't totally ruled out user error but I don't think there's much else to try at this point. I can use my st-e2 with the canon flash still so the controller isn't the issue.
