I am purchasing the 580ex flash and need a lens in this range. This is an excellent lens. ....photography, the art of seeing something with a new set of eyes.....capturing the ordinary in an extraordinary way!

On film, making prints up to 11x14 I could hardly see any difference. With digital images at 100% you the L lens is definitely better, particularly wide open, but my newer Tamron 28-75 XR is better than either.
