Lightroom frustration

I have found an odd bugginess that it reproducible and very annoying.

I have imported the whole contents of images on my internal HDD of images that I have with named folders and sub folders. But and it is only one subfolder so far, so I wonder how many others it might have also issues with, that does not show up in the "Library" but if I try to import it it is visible when 'selecting source' but warns of suspect duplicates and will now let me try to reimport it.

I even tried to add some images via Win Explorer to the root folder of that set and they do not even show up........! Deleted the whole catalog and repeated the full Import again and still no show. Just what is going on??? Doing this LR is no damn DAM at this rate!!!

Edit ~ tried with the 'do not import duplicates' unticked and it found it/them but IMO this it still odd because they were not duplicates and when I untick that option and scroll down the source thumbnails many are greayed but the "new" ones are checked by default ready to be imported ~ grrr! Might have to reimport the whole HDD to ensure it has not on a whim decided there were dups when there are not knowingly any. So, is there a function in the Library to find duplicates so I can delete after checking??? :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

You might want to re-write your post. I can't make heads nor tails of the first part…

There is no way that I know of to find duplicates in the catalog.
