That is a slick looking Lancair. That A1-B looks pretty cool too with those tundra tires... I need to get my tailwheel endorsement *sigh*.

Awesome shots. Nice and crisp. I hope to make enough money some day to have a plane of my own. Even if it's just a little 172. But for now, photography and motorcycles take all my money away.

Jay your work is always top notch. It doesn't matter what it is. Great job. I like that Lancair.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

You wouldn't think something as mundane as a breakfast fly in would yield such opportunities but the events at Coolidge are a "perfect storm" of good (often great) light, superior access and pilots who (despite the economy) want to get out and fly.

More and more, we see pilots either dipping a wing on departure or making a second pass for the camera(s) on hand.

If you find yourself in the Phoenix area on the first Saturday of October through May, come down to Coolidge (P08) and join in the shooting fun!

That Staggerwing is one sexy piece of machinery! Definitely my fave of the series.

There's one based out of CZBB as well. Once saw it slide down the runway as the pilot didn't have "three green". :(

YIKES! Talk about a nightmare!

I like the Stagger shot a lot Jay, seems like you had a very similar shot from before no? I gotta agree too, for a plastic airplane that Lancair is pretty sexy. The panning on the RV is very impressive!

Is the vignetting on the last one on purpose?

Nice shot - but hate vignetting. A wedding photographer I knew of used it all the time and her shots made it look like you were looking through a telescope (she thought she was the best out there). I guess that's why I have an aversion to them.

All great, btw, as usual...

Good memory Ryan. Bagged this same Staggerwing last fall IIRC. Just sold a 16x24" print to someone who works for the owner (Cutter Aviation ring a bell...?)

Thanks. I think he's far enough forward that he'd miss it unless it came forward to meet him at some unfortunate juncture.

Yes, the vignette is on purpose but I don't feel it's quite "Tunnel Vision" severe.

Thanks for the positive feedback (even if it's not entirely universal! ;) )
