Does anyone have any experience with the older version 17-35mm f/2.8L? I just got an offer to buy this lens second hand, but I have to travel quite a bit in order to have a look myself and get an idea of my own. I was initially going to buy a Sigma 15mm fisheye next, but the versatility of this lens is tempting, as it could also be used as a walk-around on my girlfriend's crop (I have a 5D-II).
I was browsing the lens archive for this, but there's only two pages of photos for this lens. How does it hold up to the newer 16-35mm I & II ? What should I expect to pay for it? Any sample pictures would be greatly appreciated
