Oil slick from the USS Arizona, Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii.

I visit Oahu 4-5 times a year, I've been going yearly since 1977 and 2011 was the first time I visited the Arizona memorial. If you're there, it's worth a visit.

I'm always amazed at how colorful oil is when on water. Nice job seeing this.

Another oil slick from the USS Arizona memorial. If you look thru the oil in the upper part of this photo you can see the deck of the USS Arizona.

A little color to spark a somber memory. Seems fitting. Well done.

Wow I never saw that much oil when I was there. It is definitely a must if you visit Oahu.

What shocked me was the smell of the oil; kind of a diesel fuel/kerosene mixture - very strong odor. If you haven't been recently, it's worth another visit - the exhibits/films and staff covering the events leading up to the attack and the attack itself are all top notch. The film I've never seen was one apparently shot from a Japanese plane and captured the Arizona explosion. It's an incredibly horrible event.

The Arizona memorial is very sobering, as is the movie they show in the indoor theater. I've been there a few times over the years.

Amazing shot of the slick, Rick.
