I've had this bag for almost a year now. Original review/pics can be seen here, the whole set of pics can be found here on flickr (external link). I just ordered the Domke Postal Pad, and its a great addition to the bag. If you've got the bag loaded down it can be heavy, and the pad helps out. And the strap width is perfect for the postal pad.

I wanted a real cheap stealth bag for my new camerea but being from the UK, I've had trouble sourcing some of the same bits of kit as you US guys. However, after a bit of searching I've managed to find a few little bits that should do the job.

I've purchased this from Amazon.co.uk for just under a tenna delivered (bargain). Nowhere near as stylish as some of the other kit on here but for less then £10 I shouldn't complain. Naturally I didn't go for the white one, went for something a little more conspicuous!

http://www.amazon.co.uk …TF8&qid=1328879501&sr=1-4 (external link)

And then some cheap camera insert from Ebay (delivered from China)

http://www.ebay.co.uk …overs&hash=item4aaf25c0b2 (external link)

Free delivery on the insert however it's due to take between 15-30 working days..... bad times.

Hopefully these two should do the trick, not a clue what quality will be like but for twenty quid total, it was worth a punt.

I only ordered them yesterday so will be a while until they get delivered but I will report back in due course with updates.

This looks like it will fit perfectly into my Timbuk2 bag... Going to order it now :)

i went ahead and got the rothco bag from amazon (21$), as well as the insert, but the more i look, Im thinking I want the GT bag as it zips on all of the major openings. anyone else think the same? I will be toting it around New Orleans and most likely will also may have my 9mm sidearm stored inside.

Night_owl have you considered an every-day-carry bag?
I have a Maxpedition Colossus that allows safe storage of my d300s and lens; it would allow you at least 2 safe spots to safely store your 9mm as well, with good access.

I just received the GT Bag with the photo insert. I went with the GT bag because of the zipper on the top. Bag is made very well, heavy canvas. It's great as a walk around bag when you don't want to lug all your gear around.

Right, here's my stealth bag that I've been using for a few months now and promised someone here I'd post AGES ago. The Troop London bags are available all over London in loads of different designs, they are really well made and sturdy. Tenba insert fits perfectly and the front pocket holds filters, cards, phones, ipods etc and the zipped pocket on the front flap is actually pretty deep too.
The only problem is now whenever I see a cool bag somewhere I'm thinking "my insert will fit in that" If I buy another camera bag my wife will kill me!

I can sympathize on both counts. :)

I am the very proud owner of the maxpedition lunada, complete with holster in the back pocket area. I love that bag, but size-wise it is a bit small for my NOLA expedition coming up. I went ahead and got the gt bag to replace the rothco due to the zipper ability. what I will most likely do is get an inside the waist holster and carry that way if i don't use the bag. Its an LC9 so its small enough to conceal easily.

P.S. do they even manufacture the colossus still?

I've been using the thinktank retro 20 for a while now and to the unknowing bypasser it looks like another sling bag. Held most of my gear when I had it and carries the essentials now. It's my carry on bag for travels as it can carry more than its fair share

I got this bag as well and am loving every minute of it. It's perfect sized to carry enough to shoot but not be too heavy for a day out and about!

I am curious though, have any of you guys figured out a way to carry a tripod with this setup? I am going to be travelling with this bag for the first time soon and want to figure out a way to haul my tripod with me. Maybe not all the time but I'd like to have the option available.

On my bags, I add loops on the bottom to create a sort of net to carry my tripod. You could do something similar

Thanks for the recommendations. I just purchased the bag and insert.

The Domke shoulder pad (Domke 725-310 FA-031) is cheaper at Adorama is in stock and has free shipping..... compared to Amazon's site with 3-6 weeks shipping.
