Hey guys! After lurking at POTN for some time, I thought I would give something back to this community. After reading this thread I ordered the Gravity Trading messenger bag from Amazon. I had been reading all over the internet for weeks searching for a bag that would fit my preferences, so I was eager to try it out. I ordered this insert: http://www.ebay.com …1497.l2649#ht_4591wt_1015 (external link)

Turns out I really like it! The insert is as big as can be, and the absence of a top padding does not bother me at all. Thanks to you guys my endless search for a fitting bag is finally over :) Took some photos to show you how it looks with the insert.

Inside the bag- bottom right: 200mm f/2.8L
Top right: Kenko extension tubes. Kenko 1.4x TC , 50mm f/1.4
Middle section: 40D + Sigma (10-20. 40D + 200mm + TC fits perfectly)

Bag in "Speed draw mode". Folded the lid once and tucked it in behind the insert. Works great in situations where the camera goes in and out of the bag a lot.

The ipad fits in the backpocket, but the velcro does not close.

Ipad fits easily between the back of the bag and the insert. Right by the hip might not be the best place to put an Ipad, but it fits anyhow.

I finally ordered the Camera Paddy insert to check out. I didn't order the bag yet, in case I didnt like the size/dimensions of the insert. However, upon its arrival yesterday and loading it with my gear, it's perfect! I could deal with it being a tad bit shorter, but it fits everything nicely, which my old bag did NOT. I just stuck it into a plain canvas messenger bag that I had laying around to try it out. It fits really well. I may just alter the messenger bag to add some clips or something (since it doesnt have a zipper closure, or any real secure method of closing the flap), and keep using it. I'll add some pics later on. Thanks for all the advice here!

Hi all, newbie here. I have read a lot of threads in this forum and learned some great things. This is my first post and just wanted to say I read this entire thread and ended up buying a Rapid Dominance messenger bag (black), and an insert from ebay. I really like both the bag and the insert.

This might be a noob question, but can the camera section in the original post's insert expand to fit an slr+longer zoom (I'm thinking 24-105 on a 5Dii)

I fit a 70-300 no problems straight into the insert, up and down, or are you talking of laying it on it's side?

my instinct would be to lay it on its side but you're absolutely right, probably may as well have it ''upright''..

I just returned from an outing and my gripped body with 24-105 attached fit perfectly along with a few other essentials.

Go for it.

great, thanks. I'm going to buy the insert and mull over getting the OP's bag (which looks great) or a leather one because I've always wanted a nice leather satchel thing. Cheers for your responses!
