Which has the better price to performance value? I'm going to be going to LA soon to photograph an event, and I will be shooting primarily with an 85mm. I currently own the Canon f1.8. Would it be worth selling the Canon and upgrading to the Sigma? How much better are the results?

Low light and need fast focusing, 85 1.8. More money and time to focus, 85 1.2. I have time to manually focus and have the money but still have the 85 1.8.

1.2 is out of the question unfortunately. My options are the Sigma 1.4 or keep my Canon 1.8.

The Sigma may be slightly faster at AF, offers you better IQ and an 2/3rds an extra stop. The 1.8 may be slightly more accurate at AF and is less expensive.

Had the 1.8 before, currently have the Sigma. The 1.8 is faster to focus, but I don't think it's anymore accurate, at least not compared to my copy of the Sigma. Bokeh of the Sigma is better, build is better, the 1.4 is nice to have. I think IQ is very close. Personally, I think the Sigma is worth the upgrade for the mentioned advantages.
