I wouldn't give that thing a hood due to its recessed glass. nor would I buy it a filter. good little tool AS IS

All my lenses have hoods, even my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro which has a deeply recessed front element..

So out of these, what one should I get?

or

I'm considering the second link due to the fact it's more accurate in what you get...hmm

The price is pretty close. I would get the second one that says you CAN use the lens cap.

The first one says the lens cap won't fit:

Lens hoods block side glare and augment the protection provided by filters to the lens surface and ring. The screw thread mount(NOT bayonet mount) design makes it firmly on the lens.

NOTE: you couldn't fix the lens cap when you use the lens hood

Sometimes these ebay sellers put the wrong photo in the ad. Nothing in the 1st ad says it is a 2 piece design. Just the photo.

PS: I have bought from the second seller and they ARE reputable. (884480 sales and 99.3% feedback)

I ordered from the first link seeming it's £1 cheaper (than £2...) if in doubt, I'll order the second and use the other one as a fancy paper clip holder or something!

I order one that was 3 dollars, as it said bayonet mount, and it has no problems mounting filters or the cap. So I would see how it is, before ordering another one. Or you can message the seller if it is a direct copy of the canon.

I had to get one just to make the aesthetics of this lens look better.

I little to snubby looking for me without something there.

Adorama rubber hood for $5 works for me...screw in doesn't matter to me as i keep it on all the time. I don't use any filters on mine except for occasionally a polarizer.

I use an el-cheapo ebay plastic hood. I dont exactly baby this lens to begin with so having the hood on there helps. I tend to use this lens for more "dangerous" shoots (think Holi festivals and roller derby) so I like having the hood on there
