I purchaced lightroom 3 student edition at the discounted rate. The rep told me this is the same as the edition I have been trialing for the last month. Is this true or is the discounted student edition a watered down edition?

Mar 08, 2011 19:14 | #4 Adobe student edition software is the exact same software as the retail package - what differs is that its both a special rate to legitimate students (which you have to prove before you can get it) and also with a few licence differences. Mar 08, 2011 19:20 | #7 Wow, fast answers...I just want to tweak my photos in LR (because it's easy) for personal use. I do like the ocasional watermark though. I hope it has that feature. I also don't see how they would know when I was out of school and don't want it to expire. Thanks folks!! Sony ⍺6700 | Sony 10-20/4 | Sigma 56/1.4 | Tamron 17-70/2.8

Lightroom and CS5 work the same, so don't get confused by the "no watermark" statement -- that is referring to the fact that some software adds a watermark if it is a "freeware" or trial version. Adobe products don't. Tony

LR does do watermarks, but for better watermarks, you can use the LR/Mogrify plugin.
