I think you are right. I am going to redo them all tonight  Neither were mine hehe

I used 6 strobes:
1 main
1 rim
2 for BG
1 wheel kicker
1 bounced up for fill.
The BG was cropped out of the picture.

Thanks :D

Wow she is beautiful.. very lovely and in particular her eyes. I would love to see a close up shot maybe with the fender or bumper behind her but those eyes must be used to their full potential... are they jade (green)?

She is most likely wearing lenses, but nice model anyway... and nice shots.

Thank you. I dunno if she was or wasn't, that is a possibility. I can ask her tonight.

I like them generally, but would like to see a bit more separation between her hair and the background. She gets a bit lost in a few of them.

agreed. The first one is the only one with separation. The others the hair disappears. Thanks for the input

Thanks!

I will let you in on the secret, it is easy to get into automotive and models.
Just go out and shoot what ever car you have (I have tons of shots of my beater 98 altima), just to get the lighting and angles down.
Once you are confident with your automotive photography, go to a car show and find a few cars you would like to shoot. Get the contact info from the owners and let them know you are trying to set up a shoot (show them some samples of your car).
There are always models at car shows. Just go up to a few of them and ask if they would be interested in a shoot.

Thats how I got started in on this. After a few shoots you have pictures to show you are not some weirdo creep.

How long did it take you to set that up? :)

Lovely shots, some are a little underexposed but could easily be adjusted in post.

Agreed. I re did them all last night haha.

Thanks.

The basic set up is pretty standard, two lights for the mode,l two or three for the car, then BG. The fine tuning is where all the time is (power level, where it is aimed, getting the highlights right/hot spots hidden in the headlgiht or hidden by the model).

From deploying to shooting 45 minutes to 1 hour. Moving model / light set up from the front of the car to the wheel wrench shot the things that change: main (moved it left), rim (boomed it more over the car), and taking one down from the BG to light the car, moved the wheel light to the front more. That is about a 10-20 minute change.
