I was on a local TV station's Facebook page and they posted a story & photos of a house on fire in which someone died.

As I scrolled down the page I saw this comment...well...here it is (external link)...see if you can pick it out among the posters...I couldn't resist a response.

I thought the same thing after posting this...I just couldn't resist. She had to first say not to judge her for what she was about to say, then preceed it with the fact she had a degree in mass communications ...the photos themselves she stated were "good photographs" looked like cell phone pics!...not earth shattering I know...the sad part in the whole story was that someone past away in the fire yet she said this.

I would have guessed the "close to god" comment was the dumbest if you hadn't pointed out the other dumb comment from the Comm major.

Early tuesday morning there was a triple fatal single car crash locally. Local paper put a photo of the car wrapped around the tree it hit on their website. I have no problems with photos of crashes or fire scenes even if someone died as long as they dont publish pictures of the victims laying there.

In many parts of the world, they publish the pictures, many times on the front page.

I remember in Germany years ago there was a terrorist that held hostages, etc.. The special anti-terrorist forces rolled out and a sniper shot him in the side of the head. They put his head shot (no pun intended) on the front page with the title "This is what happens to terrorists." Effective, but not something I want to look at over morning breakfast.
