Hello all. I got linked to this forum from one of my buddies. I just made the move from Nikon last week after selling my D70, lenses & accessories. My 20D should arrive any day now and I'm so excited! I already got my 17-85mm lens sitting here along with 2 gigs of Extreme III.

Little bit about myself? I'm 24 from Los Angeles, California and have always been into photography. I'm not going to school for it but I wouldn't mind taking a course or two. I've only had photo classes back in high school. Cameras that I can remember owning? Pentax K1000, Nikon N80, Nikon D70 and various P&S cameras including an S230 that I donated to my little sister. I shoot whatever I can but in particular I like to shoot architecture/structures & sports.

I'm very familiar with forums. I'm on a computer fourm (overclock.net) and have about 3600+ posts there (hopefully gonna be made a mod soon). I know that I have a lot of reading to do here so I'll definately be using the "search" button. I was walking around downtown today and it was so nice. Maybe next time I'll have my camera in hand so I can get some shots. I drive through there almost everyday but you notice so many beautiful sights when you're on foot. So we'll see what happens.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll enjoy my time here. This place looks great!

Words to live by.;)

Though I admit, searching can be futile sometimes. Often the thread title doesn't include the words you're looking for. Sometimes the keyword is misspelled. If you don't find what you're looking for, don't be afraid to ask.

You'll find this a friendly and extremely helpful place. Watch out for the occasional good-natured sarcasm.:)

Be advised, we expect you to post some top-notch pictures from your new 20D!

Welcome!

Welcome!!! You will love this forum! I recently got my 20D ,and can vouch that you will love it,too.:-)
I have found the search threads to be very helpful in making decisions. In fact this forum helped make my decision to get the 20D. I came upon it accidently in doing research ,and after reading all the raves, knew that had to be my camera.:-)
Enjoy!
Deb
