Well what I've learned is to shoot indeed very early or in the afternoon, then you just face the sun so it backlits the subject. The ideal photo is a very light vague pastel looking photo (very light colours, almost dull, very low in contrast). Then you just enhance it and add colour through photoshop (its where all the magic happens) Also, DOF and bokeh and ofc flare are very important!
Here is a link to great actions that can help you on that: http://florabellacollection.com …photoshop-actions-set-ii/ (external link)
cheers

Wow.. So much money for actions that should take almost no time to make on your own.

Yeah, I have like 6 different curves presets that I use commonly - and I just make the rest when I need em... I guess if people are willing to pay...

P.S. you need no fill flash/reflector for flare shots like like - stop making it overcomplicated.

You don’t need a fill or anything if you just expose for there face.

Do you have some examples of photos like this that you've taken with no fill flash or at least a reflector? I haven't messed with this type of photography but I've always assumed a fill/reflector would come into play because exposing for the subjects would simply leave very little background if any.
