My employer (the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust) organises an event called the Sarsen Trail every year. It is a marathon between Avebury and Stonehenge. Yesterday a few people were going along the route for planning purposes, and (having cycled it a few weeks ago and knowing it to be quite spectacular) I went to take a few photographs before we got to MoD land and I had to put the camera away ... starting off in Avebury:
