I just picked up the Click Contrejou 40 and my tripod attaches to the centre with no issue and works great...I would give this pack a serious look for what it offers, lots of room for camera gear and other hiking gear. This pack is going to get some serious miles in the Rockies here this summer :)

The best part about the FStop packs is when you're done carrying camera gear for the day, take the insert out and you have a very functional pack that can do anything. The Lowepro's/Kata's/etc are nice, but none have this kind of versatility.

I'll 2nd the recommendation for the Contrejour 40/35. A very capable pack with lots of options, great build and very comfortable. I was hiking up to some ice falls last week w/ 50 lbs of gear on my back, and this pack worked very well. Lots of straps and attachment points on both the back and the front straps.

I had purchased a kata 222, and the Clik is WAY more comfortable and balanced. I have my Kata for sale--new w/ tags if interested...

Peter

Judging from your gear list, you've already come to this conclusion for all things photography.... ;)

I have a F-Stop Loka and its the closest thing I have to any of my true alpine or backpacking packs. Absolutely love it and plan to get the Tilopa BC when funds allow :)
