Hey Guys,
Looking for a boom arm or boom stand to go with my Elinchrom 600RX and the Elinchrom EL 26169 27-Inch Beauty Dish.

It will be use 70% location and 30% studio.
I have the Avenger A5033, but I am not sure that the footprint 29' is wide enough.

Any ideals would be appreciated.
Thanks

You definitely don't even want to try it with an A5033. That would be very bad.

That's what I thought.
I have an Avenger A700,but it is too big for location shoots.

I use the cheetah stand. BUT you have to put some weights on the two other legs.

Do it right. Get a good solid steel stand and boom.

Aluminum stands are flimsy and require far too much sandbagging and counterweights.

If you're going to say "I use the Cheetah stand" then it would be good to say which one. By default, a Cheetah stand is the C8 or C12 auto stand.

If you mean that you use a Cheetah C(entury) stand then you need to say so ;)

I have a couple of these>>>> http://www.adorama.com/LTBAK.html (external link)

If you counter balance it correctly, it does a decent job. It's fairly in-expensive, light weight and easy to transport. I've used it with an Elinchrom Ranger head and BXRI 500 monolight (both with the Elinchrom Maxisoft beauty dish) and a Photogenic 1250 monolight (which isn't light weight by any means). My biggest complaint with it is that it's not air cushioned....but other than that, I've had good luck with 'em for location work.

I hope you looked at our big boom thread.

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=988088

I just got A5017 (a smaller version of A5033) and I won't put a boom on it. Boom wise, Avgenger Combi Boom or better Mathews Booms.

Did you use it inside or outside? And it outside did you just set it one place or move around?

Same here, I just wish I'd gotten the air cushion stand and would probably have gotten the stand with the adjustable leg for uneven surfaces.

Would you like to buy a vowel?
Go ahead, spin the wheel.
