Excellent idea for a thread. Here is a rather old shot (2009) of a famous landmark...one of many here in town. :D The Alamo in San Antonio, TX

You know, most of us in America likely recognize that, but others, not so much, and you don't show a Location -- how about providing an identification for the rest of the world!

Thanks, I thought the idea for the thread was a good one. Great shot too but if you don't have your current location on your bio, please provide where the picture was taken and what it is of...maybe a brief explanation for the people who don't know what it is.

One from the amazing dust storm that hit Sydney in September 2009. Image straight from the 400D - nothing done in post.

A lot of us true Americans know what this is. I just thought it would be proper for all the people who are not from America...so they could know what it was.

"Remember the Alamo!"

I do find it somewhat amusing when people don't have a location in their profile, then post something from that unknown location and say something implying some familiarity with said unknown location, leaving us scratching our heads and saying "Huh?":)!

+1. That happens all the time. I find myself always asking where pictures were taken on this forum.

Magic, lovely shot for a relatively new photographer. How long have you been shooting?
