Well, if anyone cares, I was featured in Recoil's "Friday Night Gun Porn" Friday that passed. Kind of huge for me considering I only started taking picture of my firearms because I wanted something to hang in my office. :)

Here's my long-gone 1000-yard 'light' benchrest rifle. Weighed just under 17 pounds.

BAT dual-port single-shot action, 28" (?) barrel, chambered in 6.5-284 Shehane, a mildly improved 6.5-284...

...12-42 Nightforce scope, Shehane stock. This was its original barrel, with muzzlebrake. Barrels 2 and 3 didn't have a MB.

Shot this for about 1.5 years; finally ran out of emotional energy. (For instance, the closest 1000-yard range was 2 hours away.) Got hot one day and won best light-rifle group, best heavy-rifle group, and best heavy-rifle aggregate score. That day, I shot a 5-shot group that measured 4-9/16"...from 1000 yards!

It was all downhill from there. :p

Here...

...are a few 3-shot, 200-yard load-evaluation groups.

Lest you think 1000-yard shooting is easy with a jillion dollars of equipment, here's what the target butts looked like.

This was a borrowed rifle and, in fact, everything.

One day, with about a half-dozen of us watching and helping, one shooter with a rifle zeroed initially at normal distance (for instance, 200 yards) NEVER got one shot on the target, which are 42 inches square. (Those are target-position numberboards, [about 8 feet square IIRC] in the pics, not targets.)

Fuji X-H2 w/SmallRig all-around L-plate.. Fugi lenses in 10-24/4, 16-55/2.8, 70-200, and 33/1.4, Canon TS-Es in 24/3.5 and 50/2.8, and Viltrox 75/1.2.. Gitzo GT-3533S Systematic tripod with leveler and Rogeti geared head.

As I have been posting pics of the kids shooting I thought that I would throw another one of me shooting. My daughter convinced me to have a go shooting her air rifle in the disabled class at last years British Air Gun championships. Although I used to shoot ISU/UIT 3 Positional years ago I have never shot AR competitively before. Although I cannot qualify for an IPSC Classification, I am able to compete in National comps using a domestic exemption scheme, which puts me effectively in SH1a Class. I had a pretty good shoot in the championship match, but didn't think I had done that well. So I surprised myself by qualifying for the final in 5th place. My daughter did remember to grab at least one shot with my phone, so I do have a record of my achievement. I went on to finish in 6th place. I thought that wasn't bad for a knackerd 49 year old newby to the class.

BTW I shoot from a stool rather than the wheelchair, I find the added height helpful as it's closer to shooting standing, which I have done previously.

IS that an earlyish Three Hole turret press with the auto-index? Also it doesn't look like the Lee Auto Powder Thrower, unless it's got the upgrade twin cavity kit added. It's a great pic of you (I guess) but not such a good picture of the press, but then it is not the main subject is it :).

No, It's the newer style. Classic Cast Turret Press, 4 stages and has the Iron Base and Steel Linkages. The Powder Measure is the Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure. Here's a better view...............

I have the older one that started life with the three hole turrets. I have upgraded to the four hole, so now have the choice of both if I want them. Have to remember to change the drive rod too, not just swap a three hole turret for a four. I started with the more basic powder thrower, which has the smaller rectangular shaped powder funnel. I added the upgrade kit to bring it up to this standard. It also allows the choice of fitting one or two powder chambers, which is great if you want to use the thing with rifle cartridges. Big hole in the bottom and I actually got the micro adjust slide which then sits in the top. The smaller disk goes in the top so I usually give the thing a tap to make sure that both cavities are correctly filled. It really is very consistent with the powder charge that it throws. usually +-0.1 gr.

Is that an actual photograph, or at least a montage of actual photographs, or a digital rendering? I'm finding it quite hard to tell. Also I think I would have put the round of ammo at the breech end. Up front like that it really call for just the bullet. Would I be right in thinking it's a 9mm?

Here are a couple more from me, not sure if the plain images have been up before, but some experimental processing too. Shot at Bisley during English ISSF 50m Rifle championships. yes Rosie is shooting Tennex, it was the English Championship after all.
