Outstanding group, impressive performance of the rifle as well. I could only get about 3 good ones out of a .300 WBY
before getting the barrel heated up, and yours is a lot hotter round than the .300 wby. I was getting 3300 fps, but with a 180 grain. What kind of bullet drop are you getting at 1000 yds with that round?

Hi Randy,

If you look carefully at the photo of my rifle, the Leupold scope is mounted on a slanted base. This allows the elevation turret of that scope to zero all the way out to around a mile (I've never yet used all the elevation). More importantly, my zero at 100 yds. is 1-1/2" high.

That said, with the Sierra Match King bullet (BC = 0.768), I need to add around 20 MOA elevation for a 1000 yd. zero on a typical day. More when it's cold & less when it's hot outside. A big part of getting first-round hits means calculating the range, density altitude (atmospheric pressure + temperature + humidity), & - at those distances - compensating for the Coriolis effect.

BTW, here's what I use to determine distance to the target:

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Don't forget crosswind. haha most impressive indeed. It is amazing how many people I meet that think rifles are lasers
they just shoot straight forever. I had a similar zero with my .300 it calculated to dead on at around 290 and 4 inches low at
400. So muzzle to 400 aiming center mass I was somewhere in a paper plate with a 180 gr Barnes X. After 400 yards it started dropping like a rock, at 600 was something like -36 inches.

That yag is incredibly powerful. Almost double what I have used.
