OK....here's the follow up.I contacted the dealer I purchased the lens from and he was very supportive. He contacted Sigma and I assume he went a little higher up the ladder, the very next morning I was contacted by Sigma and was told my lens would be top priority and a gift would be sent along with my lens ASAP and they were VERY apologetic.Well, the next morning there was a knock on my door with two packages,my lens and a free tripod that was of decent quality (Velbon 550r).Not bad considering we were at opposite ends of the country.Anyway I just had a chance to play with the lens and right off the bat it is MUCH better, but because I was on alert with this lens I did a whole bunch pixel peeping and initially thought it might be a bit off at 150mm @ f2.8,but after shooting a bunch of real photos I have concluded its working fine and my seem a little off due to the fact its slightly soft at f2.8 and not out of focus.Overall it was a bit of a hassle, but Sigma got it right at the end,so I guess I can't complain.:)
