Okay, so it's not exactly the peak of Senior Portrait season, but I was asked to take portraits of this beautiful young lady by her mother. Please let me know what you think...
(I haven't worked out the sharpening for web display yet.. the originals are much sharper)

These are really cute, I'm sure she will love them. I really like the colors of this set. Fresh and fun.

Thanks... yes... she had several outfits and I selected locations to complement the colors of her outfits... Thanks again for the comments.

She is indeed a lovely young lady. Without knowing your setup, I'd say these are a smidge "snapshotish" i.e not as sharp as I would expect or like to see (1 & 4 especially). If that was accomplished with a soft effects filter then you got the desired effect....and I suspect Mom will be very pleased either way.
#1 - It's just a tad light in the skin; I would try to find a way to warm the skin tones a little and lose the distraction in the lower right hand corner.
#2 - angles work....sometimes; it seems a little too steep for my liking and a too much background above her head.
#3 - as much as I like legs - will her Mom recognize her?
#4 - very natural and nice. Mom will like this one
#5 - also very nice and I find the angled look acceptable, but it's a shame you can't lighten the hair towards the back of her head a little to help soften the framing of her face slightly.

I like the photos, but it seems her skin is a tad overexposed, (unless my monitor is off, or that was your choice.)

Nice job.
1 seems to be a little overexposed, but the high contrasty, high key images are popular right now.
2 I like but there is a lot of space above her in the frame. I might do a different crop.
4 I like pose and all, but that bit of wall that's peeled ,behind her on the right keeps distracting me from what is important, her...
5 I really like, but it seems a little overexposed too.
Overall I like them. Focus may be a tad soft, but good job!

I like them all but I would crop number 1 a bit. I find the green blob in the corner distracting. Just my opinion.

I like them, too (though not sure about the legs.) I agree about cropping the right side on #1 and definitely crop some off the top in #2.

#1 - the extra exposure was pushed in PP... I agree that it might be a tad too much.. and again - not sure what I am doing with the sharpening for web.. this is SUPER crisp in the eyes on the original high res
#2 - I know what you mean about angles...and I usually don't shoot them, but we were having so much fun that i got a little happy with the tilt... which she kind of fed off of...(sounds weird, but true)
#3 - yeah, this was me just trying to work in some details for a collage or album..
#4 - yes, this really captured her spirit, which was super fun and easy going.
#5 - I did very little PP to this... maybe I'll try some dodging of her hair, good idea

thanks for all you comments and thoughtful critique!!

It was a PP thing... but it might be a little too much, it's not as noticeable when get lost in how sharp her eyes are...but the resized jpg didn't carry that sharpness

Thanks for the comments, funny thing is that I picked that location specifically because of the "peeling" exposed bricks and you are right, some of them are just located where they become a distraction

Thank you all, and I will revisit these as I process the rest of the images, I appreciate your insights...

Looks good. My only concern was when I almost fell out of my chair looking at the second image. Made me dizzy :) angles work, but that's a very steep angle!

I think #3 is great and the focus on the eyes for #1 is on point. The PP for #2 and #4 makes me think of a vintage-y look and it doesn't work as well for #2 as it does for #4

The angle is just a little too much for me in #2. As for the sharpness, were photos 1, 2, and 4 shot at f/1.8? The focus just looks off by a smidge. View separately they look great, as a set the PP is varying too much. For senior photos i believe this to be a good thing! I like the various poses but most importantly i like how her eyes really connect with the camera. Great captures!

The whole shoot was shot at 2.8 or somewhere near there, smallest aperture would probably be 4.0... I take that back, we did some OCF and I probably got down to 5.6 or 8 for those, but they aren't posted here... yeah, the varied PP is related to the fact that we shot at 5 or more locations over a 3 hour period and it's difficult to keep that consistency you would normally want, but she also had several clothes changes and you would expect those to almost look like a different shoot. thanks for your comments!
