Hi Everyone. I am new and hope to get involved with this site which looks really good. Have to say though never ever ever ever had so much trouble registering for a forum site. You guys really make it hard. I have been so frustrated and cross I nearly gave up several times
Now that I have got that off my chest and am now finally able to log in, I hope to learn lots but also have some fun along the way.

But you got in ;)

There is a reason for it and that is to keep as many spam-bots away as possible.

Hi there,

We share your pain regarding the registration process, particularly the captchya image recognition.

As POTN is a large and popular community (which is great for us), it can attract the attention of automated spam-bots, which are able to automatically create forum profiles to post spam in the forums. We've unfortunately had to increase the complexity of the captchya image in an effort to frustrate these attempts. A simpler captchya would result in far more spam.

We hope you continue to enjoy the forum now that you've managed to gain entry.

Welcome. It will be worth the trouble; you'll see.

It's the best-run forum on the net. The best moderators, members, etc. Everyone is very helpful. I've been more than pleasantly surprised that people go out of their way to help on even the dumbest questions I have had.

You'll love it here.

Thank you. bw!

Welcome Jane, as already said - more pain = less spam = better place. It is well worth it in the long run because you will enjopy your time here and learn heaps.
