Because a freind's photographer bailed, I've just been asked to a wedding tonight, outdoors. I need to know if if I'm in good shape to do this. I am a not a professional by any mean. I have two Canon bodies, a Canon 430 flash, and as far as lenses go, a 24-105, 18-55, 70-200. Do I need anything else...

I would like to throw a fast prime im the mix, and make sure you have plenty of batteries and memory cards.

I am okay on batteries and cards. Could you suggest a good prime, that won't break the bank today...

Canon 50mm f1.4 is a good one, or the 85mm f 1.8.

I have found a place nearby that has a 50mm 1.8, but they are out of the 1.4...

I don't like the 1.8. Its a cheap plastic lens, and although it can produce some great images, under the speed and pressure of a wedding it is kinda a pain to have to deal with.

Don't bother with the 1.8 it can't auto focus in low light to save its life!

I think what you have is fine. I shoot 90% of my weddings with the 24-105mm only. If the whole thing is outdoors you won't be dealing with low-light churches or reception halls so just go with what you have, no need to rent! Use the 24-105mm on one body and the 70-200 on the other.

If the ceremony is not in a dark church, you can get away without a fast prime. Practice your flash techniques; whether fill flash, bouncing, or off-camera.

Don't be afraid of high ISO, especially indoors at night.

Yes you do, experience, but since it's a bit late for that. Just throw everything on auto and spray & pray.
