Starting to get ridiculous...bought this lens for Sony mount 1 year ago for $888. I am trying to buy one in Canon mount now...and had found Opteka with a 10% off coupon so I could get it for $899 instead of the $999 everybody else was selling for. The guy who is supposedly buying my lens I have talked through email with a lot...but he is out of town until the 21st and so I was ok waiting because opteka said their 10% off was good for at least another month. So I was fine. Checked today and now ts $1069 everywhere reputable....including Opteka. So that 10% off makes it $969. I know its just another $70...but damn. Shouldn't the price be dropping!?

I am guessing now that this may be because of what happened in Japan, and since I don't want to cause a big debate about sensitivity like what happened in the other thread, somebody can lock or delete this thread if they want to...

The US dollar is Weakening, ask mr Bernanke for your $70 because he´s allready spent them for you.

Lens Prices in Sweden are through the floor since a year ago most lenses have lost 15-25% of their price.

This is just the teenie tiny beginning of the payback. Taxes are heading up later this year 'till the sun don't shine. I knew I should have got that Sigma I wanted (150-500mm) for $969.00. Sigma had a rebate for it, so it was cheaper for a short spurt, that just ended a few days ago.

Bingo. The prices have pretty much remained stable in Japanese Yen, it's the dollar that is shrinking and beyond the control of the manufactuers and retailers.
