I think you need to dial back on the processing a bit. It's very easy to get carried away and not know when to stop... until you either smell the coffee or someone tells you.

The highlights in post #13 are overcooked and the hair looks completely dried out as a result of the processing. Again, her shoulders are squared in this, which looks boyish and unflattering to me.

Regarding the white balance, are you shooting in RAW or JPEG?

That's just her 'boyish' as she calls herself lol and I'm shooting in JPEG

Get into the habit of shooting in RAW now. You'll save yourself so much unnecessary pain and cut down in the expenditure of effort when you run into a "white balance disaster" that you might only happen to notice after the fact. :)

So do you recommend shooting in RAW for everything? I.e. not just portrait work?

Generally, yes. Most of us would agree that shooting in RAW is an all-the-time kinda thing.

White balance is a matter of personal taste to an extent, if you're going for a certain effect then that may be right for you. However, I just thought she was looking a little green, so I showed what, to me, would be "correct" white balance :)
as for RAW, yes, try shooting in RAW all the time. It takes a bit of time getting used to not being able to preview the thumbnails on your computer, but since for me at least, the photos are going to get some degree of PP whether they're jpeg or RAW, the advantages of RAW outweigh the slight disadvantage of having to actually open the file to see what it is, and if you have Adobe Bridge or lightroom, you can just import them straight into there and view the photos.

I'll try! I usually use the Windows picture viewer to have a quick look through to see what ones I shouldn't bother with or should to save time. Is it worth doing this to go through 240+ pictures? And knowing my luck I'd probably end up with the same result at this :( Or maybe I'm looking at this too negatively?

Regarding the WB, I had it set to 'shade' mainly because it brings a nice autumny redness to the shot...Then I may of over done it with the color balance on PS...

Well as I said, if you get Lightroom, you can just import all the photos straight from the SD card and view them in there so you can filter out the ones you aren't happy with :)
RAW does give more flexibility, so its worth it IMO.

reflector would have been awesome. 1st shot is a little awkward with her shoulder. 2 has some awesome potential if her hair wasnt as messy, and had a little fill in her face...

Post is nice though. Set had some great potential.

Are you doing something intentional to the background? It seems to look unnatural to me and is very distracting to me for some reason.
