...since you mentioned that the cable was drawing attention away from the guitar, I decided to get rid of it...

That's it! That's the one I pick now of the bunch! Without the cable, all the properties of the image draws you it and its dramatic and simple, which is a hard combo to get.

Lovely picture Wolfy!
Rafa.

[QUOTE=wolfy317;12184614]Ok. I haven't actually posted any pics lately, so I'm gonna take this chance to do so. Big Al's Daily round up will come later tonight.

I am entering a photo contest hosted by my local music store, and I need help choosing an image. I pretty much love each one of these, so I need help!!

They are all great!!! My vote goes to #2...if I have to pick one...

I know you get what you pay for - but I'm interested in getting a flash. I was looking at the speed lights and I don't have the money for them right now. Is there any off brand ones like there are battery grips that would be worth having?

im loving my yn-468.. $100 shipped.. ordered it from dslrbaby on ebay... since they are in new mexico i could order in the states and get it in 3 days!!!! guess they just bulk ordered.. so that way anyone that hasnt bought yet didnt have to wait for boat times...

There is a lot of talk on this topic! Many here have the Yongnuo, which is super cheap. However, it does tend to break, although there is a link somewhere to a DYI fixit routine that apparently actually works.

im thinking they fixed the issue.. i havent heard of many others having an issue anymore.. however i also believe someone posted a pic inside of theirs.. they were going to replace the cup.. just because and they didnt see that cap in there.. but a surface mounted part.. so hopefully it is fixed...

to everyone else... GREAT SHOTS!!!!!
alot of colors in the balloons.... trio on the trikes!!!! clear and shiney!!!!

keep em coming...

Good morning Everybody,

I slept through the night and didn't wake up until almost 7 this morning. Feel like a new person.

Now I've got the daunting task of trying to catch up with all the posts since I've been asleep. Also have the task of going through and editing 79 "keepers" from yesterday. So far, they're all looking pretty good, but there are tons of duplicates, so they can probably go. That's what happens when you have the camera set for multiple images rather than one shot.

Anyhow, here's a couple from yesterday. I never quite understood why these guys are called Double Crested Cormorants, but now I do. He was in his breeding plumage, which consists of these two, weird looking tufts on the sides of his head. You don't see them when it's not breeding season. Live and learn, huh?

Great shot of some good lookin' kids Peter. Your son looks like he's trying to give his dad the cool tough guy look for the camera.

Peter, lovely to see your young ones! The image is full of color and youth attitude, each one has his own opinion according to their expressions, which is priceless.

Nice image!

I bought the Nissin 622. It is just over 100 bucks, and powerwise is (I believe) not far behind the middle canon flash (the 430?) but doesn't support some off camera triggers and things that people who are into flashes soon start using. For indoor shots where you want to bounce a flash off the wall or a ceiling (on camera or attached to the hotshoe by a cord), however, it is very good. Mine will sometimes refuse to initially power up, and I have to "start it" a couple of times. Once it's on, though, it is dependable and is pretty quick from shot to shot. I think there is more flash talk at the "official T2i thread".

@mitch great series, I opted not to bring a tripod with me on my trip and you are making me regret that with some nice long night exposures.

@annie that bird is freaking me out for some reason.

@sandra nice capture!

@trugga those are some amazing shots, really jealous and wishing I had tripod.

I woke up early since I crashed early last night and I have a little over an hour till sunrise, gunna ride my bike down by the shore and try to get a shot of the sunrising over the island, no tripod for me though so I won't be able to do a timelapse, or maybe I will....
