Hey thanks for your comments!! Here is the details of the tree and milkyway pic.

Tree Picture: kit lens 18-55mm
Exposure: 37mins
F/ 4.5
iso-100
18mm
I was going for 45mins to an hour but I was sitting in the middle of the woods at 3am and heard some movement in the bushes behind me, we have bears around here and well.... I shined a flashlight and seen 2 eyes glowing, it was a deer. But I just chanced it with 37mins and went back to the house LOL

The milkyway: kit lens 18-55mm
Exposure: 14mins 23 seconds (37 stacked images with dss, no darks or flats)
f/3.5
iso-800 and 1600
18mm
This picture is of the sagittarus star cloud, at this point in time it was around 5am, and unfortunantly there was alot of light pollution :( This is more of a summer constalation, so the closer it gets to the summer the earlier in the night it can be seen. I need to find a darker place and Im going to use my 50mm f1.8 next time.

lol ur story about the deer is too funny haha
the shot came out great though
i really need to learn how to do that :]

I use a remote shutter release. Depending on focal length vary your exposure time. You don't want star trails. When I stacked images of Orion I used 70+ pics. Some nice pics on this thread

On vacation and just received the Tamron 70-300 VC. This is second shot with it and yes everything is set on auto. Very overcast day, had to stop the car and jump out and fire! This is straight out of the camera with no PP. I am one of those who does appreciate constructive comments. No way to do any PP until I get back to my computer.
Thanks,
Dave

Peter, thank you. Shooting the dog was a stretch for my nifty 250. That dog was a 300 feet or more away. Where did you notice the frog. I must ahave missed something.

My bad Ofwiah I meant wolfie's 2nd picture of dog series sorry my bad.

Yes. The Milky Way has eluded me thus far, so I'm quite jealous over that shot!

Awesome shot! There's way too much light pollution around here to even try any night sky photos.
