There wasn't much to shoot this morning, so I decided to concentrate on water drops. These are the result. My favorite is the one with the drops coming off the green leaf:

Your water drop shots are getting really good Annie!

Thank you John. When they come out good, they make it look so simple, but it's not as easy as it seems. One trick is to use manual focus only, but even at that, I wind up throwing out a ton of them. I wasn't even all that pleased with several of these, but they're not terrible. Just not what I'd like.

I've always been fascinated with water drop macros that really show the reflections clearly and frame filling. Maybe I should try it one day with the 18-55 kit lens and see what I can get, even though it's not a macro.

Hello, and WELCOME ABOARD!! I got my T2i in December too, and I'm just loving it.

Great series of shots. Looking forward to more.

Hey thanks for your comments!! Here is the details of the tree and milkyway pic.

Tree Picture: kit lens 18-55mm
Exposure: 37mins
F/ 4.5
iso-100
18mm
I was going for 45mins to an hour but I was sitting in the middle of the woods at 3am and heard some movement in the bushes behind me, we have bears around here and well.... I shined a flashlight and seen 2 eyes glowing, it was a deer. But I just chanced it with 37mins and went back to the house LOL

The milkyway: kit lens 18-55mm
Exposure: 14mins 23 seconds (37 stacked images with dss, no darks or flats)
f/3.5
iso-800 and 1600
18mm
This picture is of the sagittarus star cloud, at this point in time it was around 5am, and unfortunantly there was alot of light pollution :( This is more of a summer constalation, so the closer it gets to the summer the earlier in the night it can be seen. I need to find a darker place and Im going to use my 50mm f1.8 next time.

Definitely going to try that sometime....when I have the patience!

And again, possibly not the best shot, but just look at the reflection in that water drop.

Hi, and welcome! I'm new here too.

Here's a few photos I took over the weekend at a show in Austin of a band called Sleigh Bells. It was one of the most difficult shoots because there were strobe lights throughout the majority of the set, and lots of movement (not that I mind that).
All of the photos from that show are here: http://www.examiner.com …ss-at-la-zona-rosa-austin (external link)

Great shots under very difficult conditions. I think the last one is especially good.

And thanks for the comment on the water drop shot. Much appreciated.

Look at all you guys taking great pictures. I have nothing to share today (yet) but I've been busy fondling my new manfrotto tripod that was delivered today. Sadly, the ballhead won't be here until tomorrow so it's just something to look at today.

I'm already going blind with all the fondling of the 20D

It's cloudy, rainy, and nasty out, but some big storms may be rolling through later so I'm hoping that presents some photo opportunities.
