Well I'd like to see some tornado pictures but not at the risk of you and your family. You ever consider a career as a storm chaser?

If I lived further west I would. But for now I'm just a trained Skywarn spotter and call in any sightings to the NWS for the sake of public safety. But I'd like to take a "tornado safari" one spring out in the plains and just drive around for a few weeks for taking pictures of storms.

Look at all you guys taking great pictures. I have nothing to share today (yet) but I've been busy fondling my new manfrotto tripod that was delivered today. Sadly, the ballhead won't be here until tomorrow so it's just something to look at today.

Hey marubozo... What tripod and ball head did you order?

I'm awaiting the delivery of a Manfrotto 498RC2 Ball Head and Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 Tripod. The order just went in Sunday... so perhaps early next week it should arrive.

That's the same setup I have Maru. I love the feature on the tripod that allows it to go horizontal. Or rather, I'd love it if I ever used it. :D

Maru, I think you'll appreciate this shot of a Tornado Warned Supercell that came through here last week :-)
Of course, being the weather geek that I am on top of being a photography wannabe, I am supremely jealous. The storm had multiple funnels at times, but no touchdowns. Relatively slow moving as well.

Too bad I didn't have my camera with me at the time.

(removed the images as they were not mine.

Hey guys Im new to this site, just got a T2i not too long ago, was deciding between that and the 7D but as I had sometime to play around with the 7D thought the T2i was more then enough for me as I am a beginner and still have alot to learn.

Anyway here are some pictures I took of some flowers that I had in my house
this one was taken with natural light

Sounds as though this is the setup to have. I am looking for a new tripod setup. My girlfriend bought me one for Christmas last year. But at that time all I had was the Canon SX10IS, which is pretty light compared to the camera/lens I'm using now. Everyone please post reviews

Very VERY cute, but where's the signature.

BTW, for all you newbies, did you know that all newcomers to POTN are required to post at least one duck shot? ;)
