While on the subject of posting pics. Flickr pics are embedded so that clicking the pic takes one to the main pic and we can see the exif and other info.

How to do that with Picasa ? I usually post a direct link. How to post a clickable link ?

I don't think you can. The clickable link that's generated by Picasa is HTML, not BBCode.

These are so cool. Nice shots John. So when do the young ones get the white feathers on their heads?

Lou, it generally takes about five to six years. Before that, as "teenagers," the adolescents develop streaking patterns of dark and white if memory serves (which it rarely does these days).

John, envy your having your own personal eagle tree. hehe

Around here, a pair of rare owls turned up in a local park and set up shop. Since then almost photographer in town has been going to the park at nights to get shots of them. Luckily they do not disturb the birds who in turn seem not to mind the intrusion of strobes and flashes and all the things photographers do to get a shot.

This photo was taken right after a storm came through a few weeks back. The time of day was not long before dark. I was shooting some pictures with ISOs over 3200. I deleted them because of the noise factor. This was a spur of the moment thing. The ISO on this picture is only 400. The noise is showing on this picture. I rarely use flash so I do pump up the ISO to get a shot when I have too although I try not to shoot in such condtions.

Oh Annie, as long as you remember how to take wonderful photos and post them here, you're doin' good in my book.

Now the white head feathers aren't the equivalent of gray hairs on a human right? You know how like you can tell a dog is getting older by the white hair on their muzzle.
The lifespan of an eagle seems like it would be pretty long.

Can you give us a post number please (upper right corner of the post). The page numbers depend on how our preferences are set. I use 50 posts per page, so I'm only up to page #144

Well where that eagle nest is, on any given day you will usually find quite a few photographers. Yesterday with it being cloudy I had it to myself which was great. Although I do enjoy talking the photography talk with anyone there.

I usually get some screech owls in my mango tree in the back yard but haven't seen any yet this year. So are we gonna see some owl pics? :D

You'll need to give us the post # (upper right hand corner) There are different settings for number of posts on a page. So your page 379 wont be my page number 379. does that make sense?

John
