Good job Annie. I read your post about this a while back and thought to myself "Ah she's just underestimating herself." I was right.

Anyhoo now while on the subject of flashes I have a chance to pick up a 430EX Speedlite for $175 bux from someone on Craigslist but I'm not sure if I need a second one or if I'm just tempted because it's being sold at a good price.

Eh, maybe I'll just let the flash go since what I really need is a good set of tripod legs. Well, that and I've been discussing an upgrade with my wife for her birthday (June 11th). She's got a Rebel XTi 400D and after shooting with the T2i she's all for it. Now the choice becomes whether to sell her kit and pickup up another T2i OR get a T3i for myself and "hand over" the T2i to Liz...decisions, decisions.

But you can get a brand new Yn-468 on amazon for about $100 and put the rest towards that new camera (or tripod). So far, I'm really pleased with the Yongnuo, and I'll like it even better once I really learn how to use it.

:) Anne

It is. Good eye Bobo. I actually tried to tone it down somewhat. Guess it wasn't enough. ;)

Thank you both. Killer, I'm not so sure it's good to see him back. He's the one (along with one of the doves) that's tossing the food all over the ground so he can get what he wants. Feeder got filled yesterday, and today it's half empty thanks to those two. Then again, these models work for bird seed. Guess I shouldn't complain. LOL

This is why I rarely post on the photo forums.

I don't think it's personal, but it's not constructive criticism either, and certainly isn't phrased politely.

One of the things I never liked about photo sites in general, and the reason I love this forum is we don't have elitist idiots who think they're experts and who think they have the right to be nasty (they don't).

Don't let them get you upset. You and the young lady have to like your photos....they (meaning the forum fools) don't. Besides, we like you and your photos.

Not upset just can't make out what their trying to tell me or... Basically I don't understand their approach. Idk I just thought I asked. I don't get offended easily but I do agree on the wording. It's just throwing me off.. Lol thx Annie

Nice bird shots Annie! I just moved back home for the Summer and I have been waiting for birds to start coming to the feeders in my backyard. Hopefully I can get some good shots with my new 70-200.

On another note, this Sunday I will be leaving on a road trip with my two older brothers. We are starting in San Diego and driving up to Seattle and back. I think it is going to take around 12 days, so we should be able to stop in some new places that I haven't seen, especially considering I've been out of California once in my life! We have a plan of places to stop, but I was wondering if any of you knew of anywhere that is a must-go. Let me know if you know of anywhere cool! :D

Of course I'm bringing my camera, so expect tons of pictures in a couple weeks!

I'm beyond jealous. Be sure to do the Oregon Coast. I'm still trying to get there, but I've researched it enough to know it's just gorgeous. Seattle itself is my favorite city too.

I don't think you're going to run out of incredible things to shoot. Can't wait to see them.

While in San Diego (or rather Escondido), have you ever been to the Wild Animal Park? I like it better than the zoo. It's one of my favorite places in the whole world.

Have a wonderful trip. It's going to be AWESOME!!

Is this constructive criticism or are these people getting a litlle personal. Idk what to think. Please advise

I should take no notice, when i seen the pictures posted here i thought they were great and i could believe she liked them too.

The processing suites the pictures, the overexposed bits, and they all catch the moment well.
A picture can look good to someone but not so good to someone else, were all different.
But if you post on another forum you must expect criticism, after all thats why you posted there and not here, which doesnt seem to happen here, a blurry/out of focus picture still gets a "nice shot" for some strange reason.

But i would say again, they are great captures to me and keep up the good work.

Annie and the others are right Digital. Some of those could have expressed themselves much better.

For instance:

2 and 3 are waaaay to over exposed or whatever you did. way to bright. (and wtf! all that for a bday lol??)

First of all he's stating his opinion. What matters is whether the person who is in the photo likes it, even you as the photographer may not like the picture or the filter but if she does, then that's all that matters. And yea, all that for a birthday, I'm sure someone in his family has made an event out of a landmark birthday so his statement was just a waste of cyberspace.

Whats wrong with her neck and jaw line in #7, it does not appear in #6.

Once again this comment could have been made more tactfully but some people are just d-bags and can't help themselves. Anyhoo, Digital your pictures were well framed and the people were posed well. Good job man...brings me back to my childhood :)
