You just know that the minute I said there was nothing to shoot today, a whole show went on.

Some of you may remember the shots of the big Anole on the bird feeder. Well, apparently he's staked it out as his own turf. When I went out to fill the feeder this morning, he was on the Shepherd's Crook. I was able to get right next to it, and he didn't get scared until I took the feeder down. That's when he jumped into the leaves at the base of the tree. And the birds seem to be more afraid of him than he is of them. He was back again just a little while ago. There are more shots to process, but I wanted to show you this one.

Notice where the Dove is in relation to the Anole (who has that white dewlap stuck out). And even more interesting, notice the coloration on the Anole, and then look at the leaves at the base of the tree. Super Camo!!!

And this one just cracks me up. Doesn't that silly bird know what a great dinner he could be having?

Thanks Dan. I suppose I realized about the camo look subconsciously, but until I looked at that photo, I never really gave it any thought.

Here's one more of the little terror.

awwwwwww..... you're just prejudiced (and my biggest fan I think). Thank you.

It gives you a pretty good idea of his size. Not nearly anything like an Iguana, but certainly not gecko sized either.

It never seems to show well in photos, but when he's against the bark of the tree, he looks more like a very bright apple green......or chartreuse I guess. Sort of neon and bright.

Thanks again. I know he doesn't mean to be, but I think he's hysterically funny to watch (and photograph).
