Itzmered, those are really colorful and interesting pictures! Number 1 is my favorite, the bird on that one pops out of the frame! I love the colors! By the way, I agree that Standard is usually better than Faithful, specially if you plan on doing little to no post-processing. Faithful requires some PP to increase the contrast and take back some of the saturation.

Pictures 2 and 3 appear slightly blurred... what was the shutter speed on those? Is this a dim-lit location? What ISO where you using? Perhaps its worth it to up the ISO a bit so you can double the shutter speed and avoid blur? Or perhaps he is a bit restless and its motion blur I am seeing, hard to tell.

Nice images!

Rafa.

I hope you're all happy now. I want a parrot too!!

My camera is always set on standard. I don't even know what those other settings are for.

I just purchased a T2i about two weeks ago...

Bohh, I don't remember if you have been properly welcomed here, so, in case you haven't, Welcome to the T2i section of POTN!

You have some interesting images. The moon shot is very well achieved for what is a difficult task, apparently you missed the moon 'frenzy' of the weekend! :) The chimes image has some nice rhythm and texture to it. Did you try one completely reversed? (chimes out of focus and background in focus?) Could be interesting to see the results.

The parrot images are very interesting but I believe the White Balance is a bit off which renders the (apparently) white feathers completely yellow. For such effects, I still prefer to have a properly WB set and then add color in post. Did you try changing the WB to tungsten? I have now made my decision to never use Auto WB again, I set it to the closer available pre-set to what my conditions are.

Welcome again, hope to see more from you.
Rafa.

Well, 1/100th could be enough, unless you are using the 250mm end of the 55-250. At any rate, since our ISO800 is still very, very clean... I think it could be worth it to try a ISO800 at 1/200th, or 1/160th.

I agree that pets rarely stand still and that is part of the challenge :)

Rafa.

Since we seem to be on an animal kick I will add my share.:) I'm thinking I should have cropped out the body and just left the head.

I think the detail in the body is cool, it looks like a desert. :) It's just too bad about the errant sheep ass in the background. :)

Hello all... I'm new here, so don't be too harsh.

Just thought I'd throw up a few HDR's that friends of mine seem to like.

Some are old, some are new... I have refined my technique and I think they are becoming more acceptable to look at.

EDIT: Edited the photo order to show chronology... from my very first HDR to my most recent.

your pictures are beautiful, the last one looks like it could be a Christmas card;), welcome to our big family:cool:

One more of the Muscovy nest. Why you ask? Because where there were four before, there are now five. You can't see the fifth one here, because it's covered with downy fuzz, but it's there.

You can plainly see that the fuzz has been moved since this morning.

Needless to say, I am fascinated.

I am very fascinated also, I love hearing these storys, it is sad about the turtle thou:(

I just purchased a T2i about two weeks ago. I'm a complete photography newbie, but I'm learning. Here's some of the better shots from my first ~130 photos. There sure is a lot to learn between using the camera and post-editing! Criticism welcome and wanted - I'm here to learn.

you did a great job if I may say so:D Welcome to this awesome forum you will love it here. you are off to a great start with that moon shot;)

Here are a few from today. Loving the signs of spring!

As for these next ones, I actually snapped these pictures through the window of my car while I was cruising down the road at about 55 mph. So, not as sharp as they could be and there is a little window glare in a few spots, but not bad.

Neat series, but how on earth do you drive and shoot at the same time?
