I don't intend this to be the best g12 macro I ever do but it is the first.
Looking forward to getting a lot of the spring flora from 4 inches off the ground this year!
Haven't had a good macro lens spring up on ebay yet but I'm hunting.
This is a full crop from the center of the frame.

Yellow is always such a difficult colour to get right, great first attempt, you can see the potential within this shot, amazing depth of field. Not sure where you are based, but doing a quick eBay fond this - Sigma Achromatic Macro Lens Close Up Filter 52mm http://cgi.ebay.co.uk …lters&hash=item230ee345f3 (external link) – of all my close up filters this is the one I use the most, under $30 looked a good price, a simple 58 to 52mm stepping down ring would then see you in business – good luck – have fun

Thanks for the encouragement.
You're right, this is a tough flower, yellow on yellow.
I'm on the east coast of the USA.
You don't get any vignetting with the 52?
It would certainly expand my hunt if I was looking for a 58 or 52...

I tend to use my close up filters at the long end of the zoom and I have used them down to 43mm in size (Raynox DCR-250) without any issue or problem - of course if you try to zoom back you will start to get cut off. But 52mm is not a problem and opens up an interesting set of other options – see this list to extend your options - http://fuzzcraft.com/achromats.html (external link) - what you will find is the smaller the filter, in general the cheaper they tend to be. You can go the other way and fit wider. But 72/77mm achromatic lenses/filters get very expensive.
