Costco will have them for less. Maybe Amazon.com will too. I think I paid 14.95 with that charger.

Here's just the batteries for 11 bucks at Amazon

I just use some duracells/energizers and have that attached to my quantum turbo 2x2.

Recycles super quick and I can have the flash output at 1/2 without worrying about batteries.

Recently purchased the below PowerEx 801D charger and 8 of the PowerEx 2700 mAh batterys. I still have the eneloops as well but am very impressed with these AA`s and the charger works fine with charging the eneloops or any other NIMH AA cells.

I have three 580EX II's and I use Energizer AA batteries. However, I also have three CP-E4's for the extra lasting power...those too contain just Energizer AA batteries. However, if the batteries in the 580EX II starts to drain, the flash will start acting a little goofy. When that happens, it's time to switch them out!!

I've always used the Imedion 2400 AA low discharge batteries with very good success.

I have some 1.2 volt, AccuPower 2900mAH AA NiMH batteries that last a long time, but I can't tell the difference between them.
The AccuPowers aren't a charge holding type battery. These are older than anything Sanyo made like the Eneloop.

They work really well, but don't store well, compared to the Eneloop battery.
So I don't use them for anything photography related. My GPS and my old C2000 digital camera use them with good results.
The eneloops really last a long time in my speedlites bw!
