I think it's fairly obvious what these are, but if you need explanation let me know. And if you have been looking at my other posts, you know I like brutal honesty! :p

Ben,
I'm not sure what your going for on the 1st one. It just looks like a B&W blur to me.

I love the color of the 2nd one. Dono if the tree/bush on the bottom left is distracting. My 1st thought was move the framing over to the right to cut out the tree and place the boat off center to the left.

I'm not sure what exactly I thought I was going for either in the 1st one. I just thought it looked nice and wondered what others thought. It's a picture of a dried up seed pod hanging from a plant.

For the second, are you saying just crop the tree out? Feel free to edit it if you like. :)

First is totally OOF,but you know that?
Second isn;t bad, but the level of the mast and the water feels odd..a pano crop would keep the boat as the main, instead of all that water?

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

First is OOF - if it wasn't, I would do a vertical crop on it to bring more attention to the seed pod. All the lines and blurred background details distract the eye from the subject. It actually looks more like a dead flower than a seed pod, oddly enough.

The second needs something. Not sure what - the tree is indeed distracting, and I would recommend a crop of the water, but I have no idea how much of a crop would work best. Lovely color - just needs a little adjusting of the composition.

Something like this maybe? Also I should note that this was shot with a point and shoot and I was probably about 4 or more football fields length away from the subject, so inevitably some quality is going to be lost.
