Will the ettl funtion in my 60D/430ex work with the tamron 17-50 mm I just ordered. Please tell me yes....

It should. Ettl is independent of the lens

Well, E-TTL II does use the focusing distance reported by the lens, provided that's supported, so it's not totally independent of the lens.
