I'm in a bit of a pickle. I purchased the iPad 2 via apples website (still waiting on them to ship it out! vmad ) and I want an old vintage looking messenger bag style bag for it.

I want something that looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com …361&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 (external link)

without the 128$ price tag j.crew has on it. Something with an interior pocket big enough to fit the ipad would be nice as well. It should be able to fit the ipad, usb cable/wall plug, small apple bluetooth keyboard (without number pad on it) and a folder with normal 8.5x11" paper in it. Any suggestions?

Amazon has it for $49. Does it give you a lot of room after putting the iPad in it?

After the pad, i have a small incase cable case that holds my incidentals, a keyboard, some drugs, and a mag or two.

Definitely looks roomy and functional, but looking for something more like this:

a "map" bag apparently this is called. longer than it is wide, unlike a messenger bag- so i suppose my title is misleading :X

The Case Logic XNTM-4 Messenger e-Sling might work for you:
They were $24 on Amazon recently when I got one, but they don't seem to have them at the moment.

I use one of these for my iPad. I love it, but 8 1/2 x 11 paper would be a tight fit. You will not fit a binder in there either.

I have a "Camera Bag" from Banana Republic that I have been using to carry my iPad. If you look on my blog under camera bag reviews you will see my review of the bag. I don't know if they still carry it though.

I am also a big fan of Timbuck2 bags. They have a model for the iPad if I remember correctly.

Awesome looking bag! Looks comfortable too! That's exactly what I'm looking for.

I'll check out timbuck2's stuff. Thanks nick!

Binder I'm not worried about, just a fat folder for 8 1/2 x 11 appers and the ipad + bluetooth apple keyboard. That's the issue I'm having. I want something small that fits everything snug and comfortably, but not as big as a messenger bag.

Jim Askew, my friend here in VA and a fellow POTNer recommended this bag:

I ordered it yesterday, as I couldn't find anything better. It's pricey, but it should fit the iPad 2, a Kindle and some other great stuff.

Bag looks great- only concern would be the keyboard as well. I think it's about an inch or so longer than the ipad. hm. I'll check dimensions tomorrow. I've been doing anatomy and physiology homework all day so my brain is like applesauce right now. :|

I looked at the keyboards made for the iPad yesterday. They were significantly longer, but I don't need one because I have a netbook and if I need to do real word processing, I can bring that instead. I love my bags and have to have the right one at all times, I'm spoiled that way. This bag seemed well-made and thought out. There were some really good alternatives out there, less expensive, but I never mind paying a little more for something I will use a lot.

I'm the same way- I want a bag that can do EXACTLY what i want it to. I don't have a laptop and would rather just use this as it'd be easier (plus i can use airprint to print out any notes i type out, email them to myself, etc.) I'm very picky when it comes to a bag.
